Right now, you're probably asking yourself, "What in the blue hell is 'Furi Kuri'?"

Well, it's whatever you want it to be.

Crazy, off-beat, out-of-the-ordinary, surreal, unusual, fresh, and in-your-face animation for the new millenium.

However, if you want a more precise definition of what "FLCL" is....

"FLCL" is a 6-episode series produced by Studio GAiNAX ("Neon Genesis Evangelion", "Kareshi Kanojo no Jijoo") that focuses on the life of 12-year-old Naota Nandaba. He lives with his father and grandfather inthe small town of Mabase. His older brother left the town of Mabase for the USA to play baseball. This doesn't sit well for his brother's girlfriend, Samejima Mamimi, who constantly flirts with Naota every chance she gets.
One day, a girl on a Vespa scooter rams into Naota, sending him flying in the air. The girl is later revealed as Haruko Haruhara, a 19-year-old alien weilding a blue Rickebnacker bass guitar.

Oh. Did I forget to mention the robots that spring from Naota's head? And what does the neighboring mechanical plant have to do with this?

The main theme of "FLCL" is adolesence. It is shown in the way Naota interacts with the other characters, such as Maimimi and Haruko.

"FLCL" is a show that has to be seen to be believed. It will leave you asking a million questions about its outcome. Anything can happen, and usually does. This show isn't for everyone - many people will be turned off by the confusing and bizzare nature of the series. It can shift from outrageous, loud absurdity at one moment to a subtle scene that carries a powerful emotional undercurrent the next.

It's loud. It's surreal. It will make your head hurt.

And that's just how I like it!
